The World, Explored

Journeys captured beyond the postcard view

The Story behind Avoca Tales

Its an unusual name so, why Avoca Tales?  Two reasons, actually.  First, we have a favorite pride of lions that live in the Kruger region of South Africa - the Avoca pride.  When we visited them, we fell in love. They are such a cool pride, that they even have their own Facebook page.   We think that the world would be a better place if everyone had a favorite pride, and we hope that you will too.

Second, Avoca is a Gaelic word meaning "the meeting of the waters".  The imagery of rivers coming together feels like travel itself - exploring new places, discovering stories and finding connection along the way.

Avoca Tales is a travel and wildlife photography journal exploring journeys beyond the postcard view - from the savannas of South Africa to the volcanic shores of the Galapagos.  Each story blends photography, place and lived experience to reveal the world with depth and intention
