Day 1

Our Journey begins . . 

  • Flight 8:10 PM EDT - JFK to Moscow, SU 103 (Aeroflot),

Day 2

Traveling

  • 12:25 PM GMT+3 - Arrive Moscow (SVO),

  • 1h50m layover - turned out to be about 5 minutes.  Our flight to Moscow was delayed and we ran through the airport.  Luckily we had been here before and knew the way.

  • 2:15 PM GMT+3 - SVO to TLV, SU 508 (Aeroflot)

  • 5:40 PM GMT+2 - Arrive Tel Aviv-Yafo (TLV)

  • Check In Airbnb - Levontin Street, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Tel Aviv District, Israel - Brand new apartment 3 rooms in the center of TLV

Day 3

Jerusalem

  • Airbnb in Tel Aviv

  • Taxi to bus station

  • Bus to Jerusalem - Visit Old City Jerusalem (private guide – our daughter), Temple Mount, Al Aqsa, Church of the Sepulcher, The Israel Museum

  • The Kotel Tunnels - English Tour.  Book tickets in advance.  A visitor to the Western Wall Plaza today can see only 70 meters of its length. However, a walk through the Western Wall Tunnels, under Old City homes, reveals hidden parts of the Wall and the remnant of the Temple. Here, one can see sights such as a Second Temple period road completely preserved, a tunnel from Hasmonean days, remnants of a one-thousand year old synagogue, and much more.

Day 4

Tel Aviv and Caesarea

  • Airbnb in Tel Aviv

  • Visit Tel Aviv University – attend class and see University Museums

  • Train from Tel Aviv to Visit Caesarea

Day 5

Tel Aviv and Jaffa

  • Airbnb Tel Aviv

  • Taxi to Jaffa and explore on our own

Day 6

  • The historic walking tour of Tel Aviv on our own

Day 7

Haifa and Akko

  • Airbnb Tel Aviv

  • Train to Haifa and taxi to Baniha gardens 

  • Taxi to Akko for underground tour of crusaders city

  • Train to Tel Aviv

Day 8

Jerusalem

  • Airbnb Tel Aviv

  • Tour Jerusalem, with private guide (our daughter), visits to Yad Vashem, but shortened day because its Friday

Day 9

Plans Change

  • Airbnb Tel Aviv

  • Visit Masada And Ein Gedi were planned, but flash floods in the region shut it down.  Change of plans to go back to Jerusalem to see the cemetery and the parliament building.

Day 10

Heading home

  • Flight - 1:00 AM GMT+2, TLV to SVO, SU 505 (Aeroflot)

  • 6:10 AM GMT+3 - Arrive Moscow (SVO)

  • 10:10 AM GMT+3 - SVO to JFK, SU 100 (Aeroflot)

  • 12:25 PM EST - Arrive New York (JFK)
